Welcome to my new creative writing site. You will find only original content here. I consider this to be a safe space to voice my opinions on current events, share short stories and poetry, all written by me! I plan to also post photographs here that highlight my travel experiences. This very well could be my first step to becoming a published author! Becoming an author is something I’ve mused about for years.

I retired from the Federal government in 2023. I spent 33 years serving the American citizenry, and I take great pride in the service I provided. However, during those 33 years, I spent a lot of time musing about being a writer. While pursuing my undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I considered majoring in Journalism but finally settled on English. I’ve always enjoyed writing. I possess deep familial roots in southeastern North Carolina and southwestern Virigina where my flair for storytelling was cultivated. At my core, no matter where I choose to live, I will always be a Southerner. Several of my family members reveled in great storytelling. Some just told funny stories about everyday life, while ours used their storytelling skills to teach the younger generation about history and their ancestors. Many of them farmed, and from the rich agrarian culture I grew up around I like telling stories about that way of life. I really enjoy writing short rural narratives that center around my ancestors. Many of these stories are fictious but the people in the stories actually existed. I am keenly aware of the contributions my family, and families like mine, made in building the nation we live in today. These stories are very important in keeping our historical memories intact. We, as a people and nation cannot know where we are headed without knowing where we have been. Many younger generations have no knowledge of what happened before they were born, where the food they eat comes from, or how the food they eat is grown and harvested. Many of them are ignorant of systems that have been in place in this country since its origins. This dumbing down of the citizenry is causing major issues that are manifesting in negative ways today. Many of my short stories aid to not only entertain but educate and inform like many of the famous American authors that came before me.

So that’s that my two cents. Please feel free to let me know if you like or dislike the stories being posted here in a respectful manner, of course!

O say can you please explain this most insane refrain,

“Take our country back!”

Many Americans ask, “Take our country back from whom?”

Just hearing it makes Brown and Black people recoil and fume!

Afterall, Native Americans were the ones that originally occupied these majestic shores, while Anglo Saxons busied themselves by busting down all the proverbial doors, robbing this land’s treasures from the rightful owners.

But just now that historical fortunes have started to reverse,

some are seeking to ensure the horrible curse does not disperse.

Putting this country’s ingrained racism staunchly back in place,

demanding all others to embrace this craziness called reverse discrimination with deep grace.

But others are thinking, “NO! Jim Crow is over forevermore!”

We refuse to go back to a time when being Black and Brown was viewed as a crime.

“We are not going back! The clock must not be turned back!”

Let’s keep in mind it was our ancestors that groomed the very soil of this land for over 350 years to ensure it bloomed.

And, not only did our work produce wealth, our bodies did too!

This work produced the riches your posterity now feels it is their God-given right to consume, while condemning all others to partake only in pure doom!

This country is heralded by many as the most powerful and richest to ever exist on planet Earth, failing to mention that if this is true it is primarily due to our unpaid work.

Their view is we simply are the mules of the world brought here from the dark continent, Africa, with no talent or wealth!

They think they saved us, never mind the rich West African history that teaches about Mansa Musa, who in 1312 possessed more wealth than Elon Musk today.

We are told you and yours should just be happy you get to reside here serving us, so sit down, shut up and adjust.

Adjust with receiving nothing once again. No perks at all for your hard work my friend.

The Pale Ones do not even care if we shake our heads in despair and disgust!

They guard all the gates, and my people are left with nothing because of one made up trait.

And because of that, we get – no money nor credit, just debt, regret, and the overwhelming toll of amplifying hate.

The Pale Ones that call themselves MAGA say deal with your hard-won victories being stripped and completely redacted from history, making our contributions nothing more than a mystery.

While the Pale Ones that scream, “Go back to Africa,” take all the credit and treasure through illicit seizure and brutality, leaving their descendants looking optimistic and accomplished, while most of mine will continue to be empty headed and impoverished. Living a life strip of freedom and decency! Black lives full of calamity!

Searching aimlessly for shelter, food to eat and requesting a seat at the table of representation minus feelings of trepidation.

While these requests are met with a loud resounding, “NO,” along with more demands of hard work, low wages, high taxation, and no chance of ever receiving any real reparations owed for the work of the previous artful and hardworking generations!

“Nah, we are not going back! The clock can’t be turned back!”

My race has finally started to catch up with the passage of laws to fight discrimination!!

The descendants are starting to thrive and refuse to be deprived henceforth.

We know all too well the deprivation of the fruits of our labor cut like a razor.

But this time the mighty invaders will be met with Brown and Black liberty crusaders better equipped to fight than ever.

Armed with the one asset the Pale Ones tried to ensure we never possessed – an equal education.

And with that we yell, “Hell, no, we will not go back, not now or ever.”

We will never go back to a time when we were forced to wear an artificial mask based on a system dominated by caste.

Pretending we are inferior, forced to worship a master race that was not superior, allowing you to place barriers in front of us all because of a fake concept based on the color of our skin sanctioned by laws designed to never allow us to win.

“We will never go back, not now or ever! We all better get ready to blend.”

So, let’s stop being uncouth and let’s face up to some real-life hard truths.

We are stronger united than divided.

Let’s work together and share the wealth fair and square.

Otherwise beware!

The end will be nothing more than despair.

Because we aren’t going anywhere without our full share.

We are all the heirs to the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O say can you see a desolate land, or would you rather allow all American descendants and immigrants to perch upon a higher hilltop, where we lift each other up with a helping hand.
